In addition to the three Directors there is a four-strong Management Team at the Home with a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Head of Care and Quality Assurance Manager. The full-time Registered Manager, who is qualified with an NVQ Level 4 in Care and a Registered Managers Award, takes responsibility for all aspects of resident Care and staffing and is the main contact point for all questions or concerns that anyone may have. In addition to this the Quality Assurance Manager is also a qualified NVQ Assessor and is able to nurture, mentor, guide and advise all staff who are on courses to achieve recognized NVQ qualifications.
Assisting the Registered Manager are the Deputy Manager and Head of Care. Both qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 they take day-to-day lead roles in ensuring that residents Care Planning is fully reflective of their needs, the staff team are delivering Care of the highest quality, and that all the residents needs are being met. Under the Management team is a full complement of staff that includes Senior Carers, Care Assistants, Catering staff, Domestic staff and other Utilities staff. All shifts are generously staffed with shift leaders and medication administrators. Tenby House is fully staffed 24 hours a day. Mornings will have between 5 and 7 staff, afternoons will have between 4 and 6 staff. Nights are looked after by 3 staff all on waking duty. Tenby House is committed to the continued development of its staff and has in-place an annual development and training programme, including NVQ training, along with planned supervision and appraisals, to ensure that all members of staff are fully able to carry out their roles. In accordance with regulations, and for the security of residents, all staff are vetted through the Criminal Records Bureau and a minimum of two written references are obtained before anyone is allowed to work with residents.
